All week I was watching the weather forecast and cringing at the rain it was predicting on Rachel & Blake's big day. Even hours before the reception it was still calling for rain but when the time came, it couldn't have been more beautiful. The atmosphere, the emotion, the weather, the new beautiful family were all perfect. I'm so happy for Rachel and Blake and this new adventure they are beginning!
The decorations on this cake were incredible (I didn't try any, but it looked delicious, too!) The pretty scroll work is actually a language... Gallifreyan - from Doctor Who. Rachel's son, Hyrum looked up how to write everyone's names so all ten people in their family would be represented. Rachel is a huge Doctor Who fan so it was AWESOME. If anyone is in need of a spectacular cake, I'll give you Lisa's info:)

Greensboro Wedding Photographer | Ashtyn Bridals
My last shoot before I had my son last year was Ashtyn's sister, so when I got an e-mail from Ashtyn to shoot her bridals I was super excited because all those sisters are so beautiful! Ashtyn looked beautiful and I love love loved her cowboy boots with the dress, they were so cute and fun.
It was also a great time having the mom and sister posse who helped with hauling stuff, making Ashtyn smile, fluffing up the dress, and being my "wind". Thanks ladies!!
Raleigh LDS Temple Wedding Photographer | Balbina and Brian
When I met up with Balbina a few days before her wedding to shoot her bridal portraits we both expressed how nervous we were for her big day looking at the weekend's weather forecast. The night before the wedding I couldn't sleep and checked my phone ALL. THE. TIME. The hourly forecast promised downpours of rain alllllll day and night. Driving from Greensboro to Raleigh I kept hitting bursts of rain but when I got to the temple where they were married it was overcast but not raining. It sprinkled/misted some but most of the rain held off long enough for us to get some wonderful shots of Brian and Balbina on the the temple grounds. We lucked out for the pictures during the reception, too! Man let me tell ya, prayer (even for things like the weather) really works!!

Greensboro Wedding Photographer | Dana & Sean
My cousin, Sean got married earlier this year and just made it back to NC for a reception a few weeks ago. The weather was perfect, the location, food and atmosphere couldn't have been better, the light for pictures...was my nemesis:/ Luckily, these two (and my good husband and kids) were patient with me while we walked here and there trying to find a place that would be evenly lit enough to snap a few shots;)
It was wonderful meeting Dana, she and Sean fit so well together. Welcome to the family, Dana:)
what a goof:)

Greensboro Wedding Photographer | Kris & Tom Engagement Photos
It is such a compliment when people who don't know me, hire me purely on the word of others. Kris and Tom fall into that category:) We told each other what we were wearing on the phone minutes before we met, but looking at these pictures you would never guess we haven't known each other for years, or at least met up once before;) They were so natural in front of the camera and super fun and funny to hang out with. We might have had some laughs at Kris' (chicken move) expense;)
We totally lucked out on having beautiful weather, it's a good thing because this was our rain-date shoot!
Kris and Tom, it was truly my privilege to photograph you two. You make an awesome pair and I'm so happy to have met you!

Brian & Gabbi | Greensboro Wedding Photographer
Gabbi, Brian, and I ventured out in the freezing cold weather through a nice snow storm to snag some engagement pictures in the beautiful snow:)
Although we had freezing temperatures, these two love birds were heating things up...and cracking me up with some of the misunderstood posing :)
Poor Gabbi had her hair done perfectly when we met up, and the snow was coming down so quickly that it was soaked within minutes:/ Luckily, she can pull that look off and still looked totally gorgeous!
mistletoe anyone? :)
I hope y'all like your pictures, you guys are darling.
Note to self: rain boots do not protect against ANY cold. AT. ALL.

Hilary Bridals | Summerfield Wedding Photographer
Hilary wanted to go somewhere different for her bridal portraits so we went to Summerfield Park. I've been there several times taking my munchkin to the playground and going for walks with other moms, but never shot there. Although it started sprinkling when she arrived, we were able to take pictures until there was no more light and got everything we needed. Hilary will be such a gorgeous bride in less than two short months!!

Alyssa & Daniel | Virginia Beach Engagement Photos
Alyssa and I go WAY back, I'm talking elementary school kind of way back! She contacted me to take some engagements of her and her fiance, Daniel, as well as one of their cats, Henry. Henry was fascinated with me...and my big belly;)
Alyssa has been an artist for as long as I've known her and painted (I think it was paint) all the sport logos in their apartment. She also makes jewelry (she's very talented!) from old artwork of hers. She made each of the bracelets she's wearing in the pictures and even made a beautiful bracelet for me. Thanks, Alyssa!!
